Heavy-duty or super heavy-duty spring set – optionally including a certificate for increasing the permissible gross vehicle weight and the permissible rear axle load.
General description:
- Suitable for Mercedes-Benz Vito/Vito Tourer/V-Class, W447 series (from October 2014)
- Suitable for vehicles with a diesel engine and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive
- Suitable for the following vehicle types: 639/2, 639/4, 639/5
- Not suitable for vehicles with height regulation / Airmatic (air Suspension)
Scope of delivery:
- Front axle: reinforced springs JB0901VA (+15 mm) or JB0902VA (+25 mm)
- Rear axle: reinforced springs JB0902HA (HD) or JB0903HA (SHD)
- Parts certificate; optional: load increase certificate
- Optional: sticker showing the new maximum authorised mass and the increased axle loads
Selection of rear axle spring (+150 / +300 kg):
Due to the stiffer rear axle springs, there should be a permanent load on the rear axle resulting from a fixed installation (workshop fitting/shelving/motorhome, etc.).
- +150 kg: With HD (heavy-duty) springs, the load should be at least 150 kg. The resulting permanent unladen weight on the rear axle must be at least 950 kg!
- +300 kg: With SHD (super heavy-duty) springs, the load should be at least 300 kg. The resulting permanent unladen weight on the rear axle must be at least 1100 kg!
TÜV inspection:
To draw up the load capacity assessment report, we require copies (scans or photographs) of the following documents
- Registration Certificate Part I (vehicle registration certificate) or
- Registration Certificate Part II (vehicle title) and COC document (EC Declaration of Conformity)
- For motorhomes, we also require the type plate from the base vehicle. This plate is located on the driver’s side door sill (B-pillar).

Once the spring set has been fitted, take the vehicle to an authorised testing organisation (TÜV/Dekra) for inspection. To ensure the inspection process runs smoothly, we recommend submitting a measurement report on the chassis geometry in addition to the load increase certificate. Once the inspection has been successfully completed, you must have the modification entered in Part I of the registration certificate (vehicle registration document) at the relevant road traffic authority.
Requirements for the weight increase:
- the base vehicle has a diesel engine with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (4-matic/AWD)
- The vehicle has a permanent rear payload of at least 150 kg
Axle loads / rims / tyres:
The permissible front axle load does not increase. Depending on the base vehicle, the permissible rear axle load increases to up to 1980 kg. Please refer to the table in the images for the required load capacity of the rims and tyres.
Delivery time:
The spring kit, including the load capacity certificate, is usually available within two weeks.
Lift kit:
Fitting the spring set can raise the vehicle’s height by 15 to 30 mm. Fitting spring sets that raise the front axle by 15 mm in addition to our +45 mm ride height increase is a common combination and is technically safe. However, please check with your authorised testing organisation (TÜV/Dekra) before fitting this combination to ensure they approve of this modification. The spring sets that raise the front axle by 30 mm cannot be combined with our 45 mm lift kit!
